Phil Spencer confirms Xbox Handheld will take a few years to launch

Phil Spencer confirms that Microsoft’s teams are working on an Xbox handheld console. However, the work is still in the prototyping stage and nothing seems to be set in stone yet, as the portable gaming machine will take “a few years” to launch. Check out the complete details below.

Xbox Handheld confirmed by Microsoft’s Phil Spencer

According to a statement made by Phil Spencer in an interview with Bloomberg, an Xbox handheld console is actively on the table. However, it is stated that this model will not be released in the near future.

The CEO of Microsoft Gaming says that the “expectation [internally] is that we would do something” in the area of handheld hardware, but the company is still figuring out exactly what that will look like. He himself says:

“The future for us in hardware is pretty awesome. The work that the team is doing around different form factors, different ways to play, I’m incredibly excited about.

Spencer further reiterated, “Today was about the games… but we will have time to come out and talk more about platform, and we can’t wait to bring it to you. I think being able to play games locally is really important.”

Prototypes are being developed, and Spencer has advised the team to observe the existing market and eventually realize their vision based on the insights gained.

What kind of Xbox gaming console will it be?

At this time, almost nothing is known about it, except that Spencer has confirmed that they are working on an Xbox handheld behind the scenes. Microsoft has not yet decided whether we will end up with a device like the Steam Deck with powerful hardware or just a streaming device like the PlayStation Portal.

Spencer also talked about Xbox games coming to other platforms. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle coming to PlayStation just a few months after its release on Xbox and PC was a big deal, but Spencer says he’s very happy with the results of other Xbox games that have come to PlayStation and Nintendo Switch since then. He said there’s no “red line” on Xbox, so any game in the current Microsoft console catalog is likely to end up landing on PlayStation.

LEGO Horizon Adventures Coming to Xbox

After its announcement, LEGO Horizon Adventures has attracted attention for being a “PlayStation Studios” title that would arrive not only on PS5, but also on PC and Nintendo Switch. Well, now, an Arabic website claims that LEGO Horizon Adventures is also coming to the Microsoft gaming console of Xbox. Check out the whole information below.

LEGO Horizon Adventures Coming to Xbox Rumor

The website that claimed the information of LEGO Horizon Adventures coming to Xbox was Just Play It. Sony’s intention is to make the game a “commercial success” by bringing it to Microsoft’s platform “in the coming months.”

The title was supposed to be released on Microsoft’s console, in an attempt to make the game profitable, as it has not received the best reception on PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

The site did not reveal a specific release date for LEGO Horizon Adventures on Xbox. However, it does state that this will occur “in the first months of 2025 at most” and even speculates that it could happen before that.

If true, this marks another step towards an increasingly open future when it comes to games from Sony’s own developers which were historically exclusive to Playstation until as late as 2020 when Horizon: Zero Dawn and Days Gone were released to Steam.

Recall that Sony, Guerrilla Games, and Studio Gobo have not announced an Xbox version of the title, so treat this article as a rumor and take it with a grain of salt.

LEGO Horizon Adventures takes Aloy, made of bricks, to face the dangers presented in the first game of the Guerrilla saga. However, in addition to her many enemies, she had to face many bugs, which had been appearing in the experience. Therefore, an update was recently released to fix all these nasties.

LEGO Horizon Adventures was released for PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch on November 14, 2024.

FromSoftware Parent Company Confirms 26 Console Games in Development

Kadokawa Corporation, the parent company of FromSoftware behind video game hits like Elden Ring and Sekiro Shadows Die Twice, has big plans for the future of gaming. According to its latest financial report, the company has a total of 26 new games in development, of which 20 are destined for consoles and the remaining 6 for mobile devices. This news has generated great expectations among gaming fans, especially those who enjoy titles developed by FromSoftware.

Among the development studios involved in these new projects are notable names such as Spike Chunsoft, Gotcha Gotcha Games, and Acquire. The latter, known for the Tenchu series, was recently acquired by Kadokawa, further strengthening the company’s position in the gaming industry. With so many talented studios working together, fans can expect a wide variety of genres and gameplay styles.

FromSoftware, the studio responsible for titles like Dark Souls and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, is one of the main forces behind these new projects. While no specific details have been revealed about the games in development, we’ll likely see new installments in these popular franchises, as well as entirely new titles. Xbox Allegedly Wins Max Payne Remakes Marketing Deal, Could be shown at TGA 2024

Xbox Allegedly Wins Max Payne Remakes Marketing Deal

According to a leaker, Rockstar Games and Remedy may reveal the Max Payne remakes at The Game Awards in December. Microsoft has reportedly acquired the marketing rights for the Xbox console versions of the Max Payne Remakes. Check out all the details below.

Xbox Wins Max Payne Remakes Marketing Deal: Rumor

As you may already know, Remedy and Rockstar Games announced the remakes of Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne in 2022, but nobody has seen the game in action. No teasers have been released so far, and we also don’t know practically anything about the project.

However, this could soon change, according to a leaker “Saudi Gamer” who claims that the reveal of Max Payne Remakes is scheduled for The Game Awards 2024 in December. In addition, the leaker also claims that Microsoft has acquired the marketing and promotion deals for its Xbox consoles.

Accordingly, you will find the Xbox logo possibly displayed on the game’s trailers and also, the Redmond giant will be in charge of the advertising campaign for the console versions if this rumor turns out to be true.

It should be also noted that whether the presentation will concern only the first chapter of Max Payne or both remakes, leaving it uncertain whether they are two separate projects or a single collection.

Rockstar Games, the owner of the IP, is funding the development with an estimated budget of between 60 and 80 million dollars, comparable to that of Alan Wake 2. This is not surprising considering how important the first episode was to show off the technical quality of the first Xbox console.

In any case, we believe that the game’s release is still quite far away. Just think that Remedy launched Alan Wake 2 only last year and has already planned FBC Firebreak for 2025, furthermore, we know for sure that Control 2 is in full development.

Max Payne is certainly the game that could objectively bring more revenue to Remedy’s cash box, so we are talking about a fundamental operation also for the health of the studio.

Remember that the TGA 2024 is expected in December and we can’t wait to see if this rumor is true or just another leaker’s blunder.
